From ancient times people across the world have craved
something to chew on between their meals. The Indians of
Central and South America chewed plant material and fruits
for taste, relaxation and to stimulate good moods. The ancient
Greeks chewed mastic gum (or mastiche pronounced “mas-tee-ka”)
to clean their teeth and sweeten their breath.
Today, gum is enjoyed in virtually every corner of the globe,
and in addition to tasting great, chewing gum can aid in
dental care and general well being. But what it is and how
did it become such a part of the world we live in?
Here in Wrigley's All About Gum you'll be able to find out
a little more about the story of everybody's favourite chew.
